Highways & Access
ADC Infrastructure Limited are a consultancy providing transport planning, infrastructure design and water management services. ADC Infrastructure are commissioned to provide both transport planning and water management advice in support of the application.
A detailed Transport Statement and a Travel Plan Statement are being prepared to support the application. The reports are informed by the relevant local and national policies.
The proposed development would be accessed via a new priority-controlled T-junction onto Broughton Road. The current speed limit change i.e., 30mph to 50mph located 300m east of the existing farm access would be relocated to the west of the proposed site access carriageway to reduce vehicle speeds. Pedestrians/Cyclists would benefit from the proposed 3m shared footway/cycleway on the eastern side of the site access carriageway, that extends along Broughton Road until Balmoral Avenue where it would tie into the existing footway network connecting to town centre and beyond.
The impact of the proposed development on the operation of the highway network will be assessed in the Transport Statement. Where there are adverse impacts, measures will be introduced to mitigate those impacts.
The Travel Plan Statement will set out ways to reduce the vehicle trips generated by the development by encouraging the uptake of sustainable travel.
