Landscape
The Site’s Opportunities and Constraints Plan has been developed, resulting in a landscape-led development approach that aims to conserve and enhance existing hedgerows, vegetation, and veteran trees, while also introducing extensive new public open spaces for both new and existing residents to enjoy. These spaces are strategically designed to foster community engagement, support recreational activities, and establish valuable natural habitats that contribute to the enhancement of landscape quality and distinctiveness.
To ensure an increase in biodiversity and geodiversity following development, we intend to deliver the following measures:
- Retention and enhancement of key high-value tree lines and hedgerows within the site.
- Ongoing protection and improvement of key boundary hedgerows, vegetation, and trees.
- Enrichment of open areas through the introduction of native tree species, native shrubs, and wildflower meadows.
- Creation of publicly accessible green spaces that include leisure walking paths, seating, and recreational areas.
- Establishment of a green corridor through the site to retain and enhance existing landscape features and reduce the visual and ecological impact of development.
- Significant offset from the Public Rights of Way passing through the northern part of the site, to ensure the quality and experience of the recreational route is preserved.
